Moose's Money exists because too many investors were getting bounced between lenders who ghosted them, quoted terms that changed at the closing table, or strung them along on deals that were never going to fund.
We fund deals that fit our box, and for everything else we've built a network of private lenders we trust. We invest in real estate ourselves, so we know exactly what it feels like to be on your side of the table waiting for an answer.
If your deal works, we'll get it funded — by us or by the right lender for it. If it doesn't, we'll tell you that too, and tell you what it would take to make it work. Either way, you'll get the truth.

Mark Schmidt, founder
Mark Schmidt founded Moose's Money and runs it from Owatonna, Minnesota. Mark is a real estate investor too, which is the whole point: the person reviewing your deal knows what it's like to be waiting on a lender's answer with a seller, a contractor, and a closing date all waiting on you.
How the model works
We're a private lender for business-purpose investment real estate, and a funding source for the businesses behind it. Here's the plain version of how that works:
If your deal fits our lending box, we fund it. Fix & flip, DSCR rentals, bridge, ground-up construction, and rental portfolio loans all have published program standards.
If it doesn't fit, we don't just say no. We package it and place it with lenders in our network who want exactly that asset type and market.
Either way, you get a straight answer. If a deal isn't fundable, we'll tell you why and what would change that.
Every fee is in writing, upfront. You'll see all points and fees and sign off before anything moves forward.
What we don't do: lend on primary residences, make consumer loans, or lend to individuals in their own name. Every loan is business-purpose and non-owner-occupied, made to an LLC or corporation, and full recourse.
Why a moose?
Because "private capital solutions" is forgettable, and a moose with cash in his antlers isn't. We take the money seriously. We don't take ourselves too seriously.
